As you can see if you’ve visited my site before, there has been another overhaul. I’ve updated my résumé and portfolio a bit. Have a look around. Though the palette is similar, this is an entirely new WordPress theme I’ve created for the site.
For those of you familiar with my site or work you’ve probably seen the monogram logo I use to brand myself. I’ve used that particular mark for at least 8 years. Well, last week I decided it was time for a little update and started pathfinding in Illustrator to come up with something fresh. Here is the result:
I’m pretty pleased with it. I think that the base pigment primary colors work well and it looks a little more fluid and has more motion than its monochrome predecessor. I had tried some more circular marks but didn’t like the way the letters fit. I think that this stays a little more true to the original design but makes it much more exciting.
This last weekend I updated my site to reflect the new mark and the color changes and I’m currently playing ideas for new business card.
I made some updates today. I cleaned up the slider on the homepage and added a few new samples. I also went through and tinkered with the SEO (search engine optimization) just a little.
While I’m no an expert at SEO I do know enough to get by. Thankfully, there are tools available for WordPress that allow you to optimize your SEO without having to read volumes or inadvertently repel Google, Bing, Yahoo!, etc. Personally, I prefer the Yoast plugin but I’ve also used SEO Ultimate as well as trying to tinker with the keywords, titles, and phrases by hand. Yoast is easy to use and analyzes the work while you type. Perfect for the non-SEO expert.
Well, the new site is live! This is the eighth version of my website since 1998. This version sports a shiny new WordPress underbelly. Have a look around, and uh, enjoy your stay!
